Business

Sustainable Feedstocks Group (SFG) was established by two passionate and forward-thinking co-founders who have been working in the biofuel and UCO industries for over a decade. To address the surge in demand in feedstocks for biofuels and cleaner energy sources, UCO is one of the most sustainable options, and has the best potential to accelerate the energy transition effort globally. SFG adds value in the UCO supply chain by implementing strict quality control measures at every step, ensuring traceability and quality of the UCO supplied.

SFG Purpose and Vision

SFG strives for operational excellence and delivers ISCC-certified (soon US EPA compliant) waste-based feedstocks, with every step of the verification process easily traceable. SFG cares deeply about the local communities in which it operates. The security of its people, suppliers, customers, and partners are SFG's top priorities.

Why SFG

SFG is a market leading feedstock company, supplying fully certified waste-based feedstock and biofuel products.

Inland China UCO Sourcing

SFG manages the complexity and risk in sourcing and aggregation of UCO from reliable local suppliers in various regions across mainland China.

EU Compliant  Delivery

SFG is ISCC accredited to deliver feedstocks compliant to the EU sustainability and traceability requirements.

US EPA compliance in progress (live in Q2 2024)

Supply Chain Management

SFG manages the financial, foreign exchange rate exposure, logistical and quality risks. SFG has developed robust systems and strong controls to ensure smooth operation throughout trade life cycle.

UCO quality assurance

SFG's in-house QC team work directly with the suppliers. QCs test and monitor UCO quality at every stage of the trade.

Exceptional Transparency and Traceability

To deliver ISCC certified products with premium specifications, SFG adopts best in class supply chain management procedures and risk management policies.

These are implemented and monitored rigorously with regular audits in place to minimise mismanagement. SFG does its utmost to prevent fraudulent or contaminated feedstocks to enter the biofuel supply chain. This remains a key priority, and SFG strives to address key risks by implementing the following system and operational policies:

  • 1

SFG carries out its own quality control with a dedicated and experienced team at SFG's own testing laboratories.

  • 2

SFG closely monitors and records each step of the trade life cycle, from sampling at counterparty's facilities prior to loading to quality monitoring until final step of product delivery.

  • 3

Inventory management systems to ensure quality and quantity of the products, and as a result the ability to identify any anomalies.

  • 4

Thorough and exhaustive selection of counterparties we trade with complemented by a meticulous KYC process

Quality Assurance

Three key steps to ensure high quality standards are met

Supplier Tank Quality Assurance

Supplier tanks are sealed by in-house quality check team with SFG's designated seals, and samples are sent for third-party testing.

Sampling, Testing, and Storage

Upon arriving at the shoretank site, before unloading, the feedstocks undergoes another sampling and testing by SFG's in-house quality control team at the onsite laboratory.

3rd-party Inspection and loading

Prior to delivery, the feedstocks in tank are jointly sampled and tested by SFG and an independent third-party inspector before loading onto vessels, ensuring quality assurance prior to the final delivery to our end customers.

Demand for UCO is gaining momentum

Driven by the following three factors, we expect the demand for UCO and waste-based feedstocks to surge in the coming years:

  1. Expectations that production capacity accommodating UCO will increase significantly.
  2. Tremendous regulatory incentives in encouraging the adoption of waste-based feedstocks as it produces the lowest GHG emissions (e.g., blending mandates, Fit for 55, ReFuelEU Aviation).
  3. Consumer awareness and corporate effort in reducing and offsetting carbon footprints.
